I really enjoyed this one. As a pagan myself I have a very deep interest in the natural world and it’s various personifications and manifestations. Leschen is, in my mind, the Slavic equivalent to the Diety I associate with most, the Celtic God Cernunnos and as such I felt like this one was very close to home. I based the image off the depiction of Leschen in “The Witcher” games, giving him a textured body (which I attempted to make look like interwoven sticks). Just as the mushrooms on his body and skulls at his waist represent death and decay, so to do the vines growing around his arms represent life, emphasising the role of death and rebirth in the earth’s natural cycles.
