I started a new project after Craterface, one which i am currently very invested in. I have chosen to draw a collection of cryptids from around the world, partially because of my interest in the strange and mysterious, and partially because of the challenge and therefore growth as an artist, that drawing such a wide variety of creatures/beings would likely give way too. I decided to start with my all time favorite cryptid, “The Mothman”. This was relatively easy as his (mostly) humanoid shape makes elements of posing him familiar. Looking back with hindsight being 20/20 i would have spent more time getting his hands/claws right, but i am very proud of both the line work in his cloak/wings and feathered antennae, and the shadowed area under said cloak. I also decided with this piece that a running theme throughout the collection would be the eyes, which will be the only point of vibrant colour on an otherwise monochrome collection.
